These Terms of Use govern access to and use of the Riddle, Eh? website, application, accounts, games, riddles, leaderboards, and related services.
By creating an account, joining a game, submitting an answer, or otherwise using Riddle, Eh?, you agree to these Terms of Use, the Official Game Rules, the Participation Disclaimer, the Privacy Policy, and any area-specific game rules that apply to the game you join.

Riddle, Eh? is a free-to-play, real-world riddle and scavenger hunt game designed to encourage exploration, activity, community, and learning about Canadian history.
Players receive riddles, solve them, visit lawful public access areas, answer location-based questions, and compete according to the rules of the active game.
Riddle, Eh? is free to play.
Players are not required to pay a fee, purchase a product, enter a business, make a donation, or provide anything of monetary value to participate, submit answers, or qualify for prizes.
No special tools, paid memberships, subscriptions, or equipment are required.
Players may be required to create an account to participate.
Players agree to provide accurate account information and to keep that information reasonably current.
Players are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their login credentials and for all activity that occurs under their account.
Players must not:
Riddle, Eh? may suspend, restrict, or remove accounts that appear inaccurate, fraudulent, abusive, unsafe, inactive, or in violation of these Terms.
Players must act respectfully and responsibly.
Players must not harass, threaten, abuse, intimidate, discriminate against, stalk, shame, dox, or otherwise mistreat other players, coordinators, volunteers, sponsors, members of the public, or any other person.
Players must not use Riddle, Eh? to post, submit, display, transmit, or promote content that is profane, hateful, sexually explicit, discriminatory, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, misleading, illegal, invasive of privacy, or otherwise inappropriate.
The guiding rule is simple:
Be Canadian. Be polite. Be fair. Be decent.
Players must not use profane, hateful, sexually explicit, discriminatory, threatening, abusive, harassing, or otherwise inappropriate player names, nicknames, or public display names.
Players must not attempt to bypass profanity filters through special characters, alternate spelling, spacing, symbols, letter substitutions, abbreviations, or any other method that results in a name resembling or suggesting a profane, abusive, discriminatory, or inappropriate word, act, phrase, or thing.
Riddle, Eh? may rename, hide, suspend, restrict, or remove any player name that violates these Terms or is unsuitable for public display.
Players must use the Riddle, Eh? website and application only as intended.
Players must not:
Any attempt to misuse the website or application may result in disqualification, account suspension, account removal, blocking of access, investigation, or other action.
Players must compete fairly.
Riddle, Eh? may review submissions, timestamps, logs, account activity, IP activity, answer patterns, and other records to protect game integrity.
Riddle, Eh? may correct errors, adjust results, remove invalid submissions, suspend suspicious accounts, disqualify players, or take other reasonable action if cheating, abuse, technical manipulation, or rule violations are suspected.
All decisions regarding scoring, eligibility, disqualification, prizes, tie-breakers, and winners are final.
Riddle, Eh? involves optional real-world participation.
Players participate voluntarily, on their own time, and at their own risk.
Players are responsible for their own safety, transportation, route choices, behaviour, supervision, and decisions.
Players must obey all laws, posted signs, traffic rules, site hours, safety notices, weather advisories, and instructions from lawful authorities.
Players must not enter private property, restricted areas, construction zones, private businesses, private establishments, unsafe areas, or any location where public access is not clearly permitted.
Players must not deface, damage, move, alter, remove, disturb, climb on, open, mark, block, attach anything to, or otherwise interfere with any property, structure, plaque, sign, monument, natural feature, or public space.
Riddle, Eh? is intended to be playable by all ages.
Players under the age of majority should participate with permission from a parent or legal guardian and should be accompanied or supervised by a responsible adult when visiting real-world locations.
Parents and guardians are responsible for deciding whether participation is appropriate for a minor and for supervising that minor’s participation.
Prizes may be offered for some games.
Prize categories, values, eligibility requirements, and prize structures may vary by game and game area.
Riddle, Eh? reserves the right to add, remove, substitute, modify, or change prizes at any time.
If the prize structure changes during active gameplay, Riddle, Eh? will make reasonable efforts to notify affected players through the application, website, email, phone call, text message, or a combination of these methods.
Any prizes provided by sponsors will be clearly identified as sponsor-provided prizes, and the sponsor providing the prize will be clearly indicated.
Sponsors do not control scoring, winner selection, answer validation, player data, or final results unless clearly stated in official game materials.
Riddle, Eh? owns or controls the website, application, game structure, original riddles, questions, written materials, designs, logos, graphics, artwork, rules, content, and other materials created for the game, except where third-party materials are used with permission or under applicable rights.
Players may use Riddle, Eh? materials only for personal participation in the game.
Players must not copy, reproduce, publish, sell, scrape, redistribute, modify, create derivative works from, or commercially exploit Riddle, Eh? content without written permission.
Players may share general public-facing promotional materials, public announcements, and official posts, provided they do not alter them in a misleading way.
Players may submit or display limited content, such as names, messages, reports, answers, or support requests.
Players are responsible for the content they submit.
By submitting content to Riddle, Eh?, players grant Riddle, Eh? permission to use that content as reasonably necessary to operate, display, moderate, secure, administer, and promote the game.
Riddle, Eh? may remove, hide, edit, restrict, or reject content that violates these Terms, the Official Game Rules, safety requirements, or community standards.
Riddle, Eh? may experience downtime, errors, delays, outages, maintenance, bugs, data issues, or other technical problems.
Riddle, Eh? does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access.
Riddle, Eh? may pause gameplay, correct errors, adjust schedules, restore service, modify features, or take other reasonable steps to protect fairness, security, and game integrity.
Riddle, Eh? is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
Riddle, Eh? does not guarantee that the website, application, clues, locations, content, services, or communications will always be available, accurate, complete, secure, uninterrupted, or error-free.
Players are responsible for confirming that their participation is safe, lawful, and appropriate.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Riddle, Eh?, its coordinators, volunteers, operators, sponsors, service providers, and related parties are not responsible for injuries, accidents, losses, damages, travel costs, parking costs, tickets, fines, delays, missed opportunities, data loss, device issues, account misuse, technical problems, or other consequences arising from participation in the game or use of the website or application.
Participation is voluntary and at the player’s own risk.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude liability that cannot legally be excluded.
Riddle, Eh? may suspend, restrict, or terminate access to an account or game if a player violates these Terms, the Official Game Rules, the Participation Disclaimer, safety requirements, privacy requirements, or area-specific rules.
Riddle, Eh? may also restrict access where necessary to protect safety, fairness, security, privacy, sponsors, coordinators, players, the public, or the integrity of the game.
Riddle, Eh? may change, suspend, remove, update, or discontinue any part of the website, application, rules, game structure, prizes, features, or services at any time.
If changes materially affect an active game, Riddle, Eh? will make reasonable efforts to notify active players through the application, website, email, phone call, text message, or a combination of these methods.
Riddle, Eh? may update these Terms of Use from time to time.
If material changes are made, Riddle, Eh? will make reasonable efforts to notify active players before the changes take effect.
